Finocket connects to your Amazon Seller account, pulls your GST Merchant Tax Report (B2B and B2C) every night plus settlement reports as Amazon publishes them, and turns marketplace orders into real GST invoices that flow into your GSTR-1 — no spreadsheets.
How do I connect my Amazon Seller account?
The fast path is one-tap Login with Amazon:
- Open Settings → Selling channels and tap Amazon.in → Connect.
- Tap the "Connect via Amazon" button. You are sent to Seller Central's consent page.
- Sign in with your Amazon Seller account and grant Finocket access to the Reports API.
- Amazon sends you back to Finocket. You'll see an "Amazon connected" confirmation, and the first sync runs tonight.
Your credentials are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) before they are stored — the plaintext token never touches the database. Disconnecting removes the connection and the cached marketplace data.
What if the one-tap button isn't available?
If your company registered its own SP-API app in Seller Central — or the one-tap button isn't shown — pick "Advanced: paste refresh token instead" and enter:
- LWA client id and LWA client secret — from Developer Central → App details.
- LWA refresh token — mint one from Seller Central → Manage Your Apps by authorising your own app.
- Marketplace id —
A21TJRUUN4KGVfor Amazon.in (the default). - Ingest-from date — where the first sync starts. Later nightly syncs continue from the last successful run.
What does Finocket pull, and how often?
- GST MTR B2B — every registered-buyer sale with buyer GSTIN, HSN and tax break-up. Nightly.
- GST MTR B2C — every unregistered-buyer sale. Nightly.
- Settlement reports — gross, TCS (CGST/SGST/IGST), commission, shipping and net payout, whenever Amazon generates one (roughly every two weeks).
Re-fetches never duplicate: orders, returns and settlements are matched on Amazon's own ids. The integration row shows a status badge so you can see at a glance when the last sync ran.
How do I turn Amazon orders into GST invoices?
- Open Reports → Marketplace orders. Three tabs: Orders, Settlements, Returns; summary tiles show gross, net payout and returns for your current filter (the list shows up to 500 rows per filter).
- On the Orders tab, tick any unconverted orders — one or many.
- Tap "Convert to invoice". Finocket creates real invoices with the correct CGST/SGST/IGST split (buyer state vs your state) and links each back to its marketplace order.
- Those invoices flow into your GSTR-1 like any other invoice.
At month-end, run GSTR-8 reconciliation to diff your outward supplies against Amazon's settlement view and catch mismatches before filing.
What happens if a sync fails?
The connection is marked as having a problem, and the last error is shown on Settings → Selling channels so you can see what Amazon said. Finocket keeps trying on its own — first after about an hour, then less often, and at least once a day — so a problem that fixes itself, or a password you change at Amazon’s end, is picked up without you doing anything. When a sync succeeds again the warning clears by itself.
If the error says your credentials were rejected, that one will not fix itself: disconnect and connect again. Nothing already imported is lost when you reconnect — orders and settlements Finocket has are keyed by Amazon’s own ids, so a reconnect picks up where it left off rather than duplicating.
Is a refund the same as a return?
No, and Finocket now records which one it was. Amazon’s report puts three different things in the same place: an order that came back, an order that was cancelled before it ever shipped, and a refund that says neither. A cancellation never left the warehouse, so counting it as a return makes your return rate look worse than it is. Every reversal Finocket imports now carries which of the three it was, and whether the amount on the row could be read at all — so a figure that says “returns” means returns.
For now all three are still shown together in your return totals, exactly as before, so no number you have already reported has changed. Ask your accountant whether cancellations belong in that figure for your books.
Can Finocket send my products TO Amazon?
Not yet, and it is worth knowing why rather than wondering. Amazon listings are created and edited in Seller Central, and creating one through the API needs a product category and a set of fields that Amazon defines per category — things Finocket has never been given for your account. Rather than guess at them and create a wrong listing, Finocket does not send anything.
What it can do today is tell you what a channel would accept. For a connected channel, Finocket checks your whole catalogue at once and shows which products are ready to list and which are held back, with the reason for each one. The two reasons worth knowing about are both prices:
- No price set. A product you have not priced and a product that is free look identical in your catalogue, so Finocket refuses to send either as a price. Set a price on the product, or a channel-specific price on its listing.
- Priced by weight, length or volume. If a product is priced per kilogram or per metre, that is not a price per piece, and sending it as one would advertise the wrong amount. Set an explicit channel price for those.
A listing that fails to publish to a channel that does accept listings — your Shopify or WooCommerce shop — is retried on its own, backing off from about an hour up to a day, so a temporary problem clears itself without you re-pressing anything.
