Finocket has a keyboard-first mode for power users. Press ? from any screen to see the full overlay, which shows the keys the way your own keyboard has them. Below is the reference, with the Mac keystroke first and the Windows/Linux one second.
Jump straight to a screen
On a Mac, hold Option and press the letter. On Windows and Linux, hold Alt and Shift — plain Alt with a letter is how browsers open their own menus and jump to the address bar, so the extra Shift keeps Finocket out of their way. They used to work on their own, which meant a stray keypress while you were reading — or filtering a dropdown — could take you somewhere you never asked to go.
Function keys
These stay on their own, the way they do in Tally — nobody presses a function key by accident.
The voucher keys, on the voucher screen
Writing a journal voucher? Tally’s voucher-type row works there, and only there — the keys mean nothing on any other screen, which is what lets the voucher screen take them back from the browser.
- F7 — journal.
- F5 — payment.
- F6 — receipt.
- F4 — contra.
- Alt+F5 — debit note.
Everywhere else, the rest of the function row belongs to the browser and cannot be taken back:
- F1 — browser Help.
- F3 — Find Next (browsers) · Mission Control (macOS).
- F5 — Reload — except on the voucher screen, where it selects Payment.
- F6 — focus the address bar — except on the voucher screen, where it selects Receipt.
Losing a half-typed voucher to a stray reload is not a trade worth making, so the ones we can offer moved onto the Option chord in the same order Tally has them — company is in the list above, matching Tally’s F3.
Chords
These use Command on a Mac and Control everywhere else. Both work on both, so a Mac user who reaches for Control still gets what they meant.
The command palette
The fastest way to jump anywhere — ⌘K/Ctrl+K or ⌥G/Alt+Shift+G (Tally’s Go To). Type any route name, client name, or action. It also lists your recent clients, a theme switcher, and “Ask Finocket” for the AI assistant.
Long-press & swipe (mobile)
- Swipe left on a list row → delete (with undo toast).
- Swipe right → duplicate.
- Long-press a row → context menu (edit, delete, share).
- Long-press the + button on the bottom nav → repeat your last entry with the amount cleared.
- Pull down on any list → refresh.

Where to find these without memorising them
You do not have to learn the list first. Two places show it to you while you work, and both read it from the same map as the keys themselves — so what they show is always what actually fires.
- Quick Actions — the floating panel on the right of any screen shows the shortcut next to each action it lists, so you pick them up by seeing them rather than by looking them up. An action whose shortcut opens a different screen shows none, deliberately. Scroll the panel and this entire list is at the bottom of it, so you can read every shortcut without leaving the screen you are on.
- The welcome tour shows the whole map on your own keyboard, on both paths through it — whether you told us you were coming from Tally or starting fresh. Retake it any time from the tour.

The Tools drawer
A floating Tools button sits in the corner of every screen. Tap it, or press ⌘⇧K/Ctrl+Shift+K, to search across 280+ finance and everyday utilities.
- Open it with an empty search and you get the pinned picks first — GST calculator, EMI calculator, income-tax calculator, IFSC lookup, GSTIN validator, invoice generator, amount-in-words — then type to find anything.
- A tool opens in a slide-over on top of your current screen, so you get the answer and carry on without losing your place.
- The tools you use are remembered and shown first next time.
- The tools run in your browser — the numbers you type stay on your device.
